Ultimate X-Men #1--MJ's WalkAbout Comic Book Review
ULTIMATE X-MEN #1
By Cole

Writer: Mark Millar
Penciler: Adam Kubert
Inker: Art Thibert

Hot on the heels of Ultimate Spider-Man comes an all new era of X-citement! By tossing our favorite characters, their special powers, and familiar (yes, familiar) plot turns into the mix, Marvel has given the new generation of comic book readers a fixating place to start: UP!

Mutants all over the world are being killed by mutant-hunting killer Sentinels. It's up the X-Men to find mutants and protect them, before the Sentinels find them and stomp them.

Cyclops and Marvel Girl roundup Ororo Munroe (Storm), Hank McCoy (Beast), and Peter Rasputin (Colossus) to form a mutant strike team and head 'em out. Soon, another mutant, named Bobby Drake (Iceman), joins the posse to turn the herd of bad guys toward the sunset.

Adam Kubert's, and Art Thibert's art work looks stunning on the glossy paper and lures you to go back to childhood when you just 'read' the pictures. But then along comes Mark Millar's snappy dialog and you're a grown-up again. His 'shoot-em-up' plot will entice you to draw your own pistol or whatever powers you have, anything just to get in on the action.

No wonder this was Marvel's best selling comic book of December.
